Thing 6: Flickr Mash-ups & Third Party Sites

I've looked at some Flickr mash-ups and third party sites. A mash-up is a web application that combines data from more than one source into a unique tool not envisioned originally by either source. It's a tool that allows the user to have all their data interests in one place. I liked the one that has Google's mapping to show housing maps with houses listed on Craigslist. I also like LazyLibrary which is searchable for finding Amazon.com books under 200 pages regarding your topic. I don't like the third party sites except if I would keep my photos and creations limited to landscapes and non-person compositions. Such as for an inspirational poster or mousepad. I prefer to be as anonymous as possible. I don't understand the purpose of trading cards. I assume it's so you can put a face to the person you've been speaking to or emailing. I'd rather those photos be kept in the library system's or multi-office company's staff directory. I guess that's old school but that's what I'm still most comfortable with.
